Tottenham Hotspur stayed firmly in the race for a place in the Premier League’s top four by beating Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Ange Postcoglou’s side fell behind in North London when Pascal Gross converted a penalty, but midfielder Pape Matar Sarr drew the hosts level after the interval.

The game looked to be heading for a draw until forward Brennan Johnson scored deep into added time, earning the Lilywhites a crucial three points.

Off the pitch, it appears that Spurs have named their asking price for one of their defenders.

According to Football Insider, the London side will ask for a fee in the region of £10-15 million for centre-back Joe Rodon.

Rodon has impressed on loan for Leeds so far this season

The Welshman is currently on loan at Championship side Leeds United and has played a crucial role for the Whites so far this term, missing just two of their 30 league games until now.

It is also claimed that several Premier League clubs enquired about the availability of the 26-year-old during the recent January transfer window, but Spurs’ asking price is said to have deterred interest.

Rodon joined Tottenham Football League side Swansea City in 2020 but has failed to ever establish himself as a regular for Spurs.

In total he has made just 24 appearances for the Lilywhites across all competitions, and the Wales international has also previously spent time on loan at French side Rennes.

The report claims that Spurs are keen to cash in on the defender, while Leeds are hoping to land him permanently but are aware that they may only be able to do so if they achieve promotion back to the top flight.

At present, Rodon is set to return to London when his loan spell expires at the end of the current campaign, as the deal didn’t include an option-to-buy clause.
