Tottenham Hotspur target Christian Eriksen will decide upon his future in the coming days, with several clubs interested in signing the midfielder on a free transfer.

As per Fabrizio Romano, the Dane will notify his agent of his decision in the coming hours or days, with former side Spurs joined by current club Brentford in the race to sign the player.

The 30-year-old returned to English football with the Bees in January and was in fine form during the second half of the season, but is currently set to leave the club at the end of June, unless he accepts their offer of an extension.

The Italian journalist claims that Spurs’ attention has now turned elsewhere as there is little else that they can do to persuade Eriksen or encourage him to speed up his decision.

Eriksen returned to the Danish national side earlier this year

The Danish international spent seven years with the Lilywhites between 2013 and 2020, scoring 69 goals and playing more than 300 games for the club.

Current Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is keen to bring the midfielder back to north London, with the possibility of doing so on a free transfer an added incentive.

The former Ajax man worked under Conte and won the Serie A title during his single season with Inter Milan in 2021, but had his contract terminated by the Italian club after surgery following a cardiac arrest that he suffered at Euro 2020 last year.
