Tottenham are reportedly interested in recruiting Switzerland international forward Breel Embolo this summer, according to The Sun on Sunday.

The Premier League side, who currently sit second in the English top-flight standings and face Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon, have been linked with a move for the FC Basel winger once the current 2015/16 campaign comes to a close this weekend.

The 19-year-old, who has nine international caps for his country and is expected to be included in Switzerland’s EURO 2016 squad next month in France, has scored 13 goals and provided nine assists in 39 appearances in all competitions for the Swiss Super League outfit.

Embolo, who has been likened to Ivory Coast and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, has been identified by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino as an ideal strike partner or competition for England international Harry Kane at White Hart Lane next term.

The report suggests that Basel will demand at least £20m for the Cameroon-born ace.
