Midfielder Christian Eriksen has signed a new four-year contract with Premier League club Tottenham.

The Denmark international, who has 63 caps for his country to his name, has extended his stay at the White Hart Lane outfit until 2020.

The 24-year-old has featured in three of Spurs’ opening three top-flight fixtures in the 2016/17 season, where Mauricio Pochettino’s side have drawn against Everton and Liverpool, either side of defeating Crystal Palace.

Eriksen, who joined the North London side from Ajax back in August 2013 for a reported £11m, scored eight goals and provided 16 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions last term as Tottenham finished third in the Premier League standings after mounting a title challenge for most of the campaign.

The Danish star has since racked up 134 appearances in all competitions, scoring 30 goals, plus made history back home in January by becoming the first player to win the Danish Football Player of the Year award – the equivalent of the PFA prize in England – three years in succession.
