Tottenham’s dream spine come February

Spurs probably don’t need much tinkering in the midfield, but one player they would certainly benefit from is Real Madrid’s Isco.

The 24-year-old has been on the peripheries of Zinedine Zidane’s team for much of the current campaign, starting just nine of their 18 La Liga games, and only one in the Champions League.

Unsurprisingly, especially after a wonderful display against England at Wembley in November, speculation has been building about his future in the Spanish capital, with Tottenham one of a few Premier League sides linked with the midfielder.

His quality is unquestionable, and he’d give Pochettino plenty of options in the middle, given that he could partner Victor Wanyama in the more defensive role, or even play in the more advanced positions.

Clearly, it’s a deal Spurs should try and get done this month.
