Tottenham Hotspur sealed perhaps their most important bit of transfer business of the last five years – they managed to keep Harry Kane.

The England captain had been agonising for a move since May, however, he announced on Twitter he will stay at Spurs this season.

It was a great bit of news for the North Londoners who have started the season with an impeccable 100% record, thanks to 1-0 victories against Manchester City and Wolves.

Current manager Nuno Espirito Santo has reportedly impressed his players with his methods, and if their opening results suggest anything, it is that they will be a tough side to face this season.

However, they have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Adama Traore from Wolves, according to The Telegraph.

Traore is viewed as one of Wolves’ most important players.

Spurs have been chasing the Spain international recently, with Santo reportedly looking to reunite with the winger.

Traore caused the Tottenham defence havoc last week, and could have scored a brace were it not for some unrefined finishing when in front of goal.

It is reported Spurs wanted to take the tricky winger on a season long loan, before paying around £40million for him next season.

The Lilywhites have already spent £67m on Bryan Gil from Sevilla and Cristian Romero from Atalanta.

Wolves manager Bruno Lage has also told reporters that he expects the winger to remain with the club this season.

Lage said: “Yes, I think so, we want to create a strong side, a better side to be competitive.

“We need competition for a long Premier League season and the League Cup, if players are not fit we need people to come in for them.”
