In his debut season for the club, the South Korean playmaker is awarded Shoot’s Player of the Month in May for helping Tottenham to their highest league finish in the Premier League, securing Champions League football in the process.

Son took a while to find his feet at Spurs and in the top flight, but after gradually breaking into the team in the second half of the season, he became an influential player.

It was during May where Son perhaps discovered his best form for Spurs, as their title bid started to falter, netting twice during this month.

The South Korean netted Tottenham’s second goal away at Chelsea at the start of the month, in a 2-2 draw, and the following week he scored again in a 2-1 home defeat to Southampton, with his faultless energy and desire has made him an instant fans’ favourite at White Hart Lane.
