Davies helped Wales reach their first major tournament finals in 57 years, despite suffering defeat in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Needing just a point to qualify for next summer’s 2016 UEFA European Championships in France, the Group B leaders stumbled to a 2-0 defeat on Saturday after late goals from Milan Djuric and Vedad Ibisevic. But Chris Coleman’s Dragons still advanced to the Euro finals thanks to Cyprus’ surprise 2-1 victory in Israel, sparking wild celebrations in the away end in Zenica. Despite the unflattering scoreline; the Tottenham defender put in a good defensive display and enjoyed his fair share of attacking flair down the left-flank against Bosnia to pull his weight in Wales’ historic achievement. Davies was once again part of the Wales squad that then defeated Andorra 2-0 inside Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday night, helping the Dragons keep an expected clean sheet against the rock-bottom side who were consigned to their tenth consecutive loss.
