Chelsea were left frustrated on Sunday, as they failed to beat Manchester United despite dominating possession and creating a number of chances.

With caretaker United boss Michael Carrick opting to leave Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench, United found themselves penned into their own half for much of the game at Stamford Bridge, but took an unexpected lead in the second-half when Jadon Sancho capitalised on a mistake from Jorginho.

The Italian midfielder later attuned for his mistake by scoring a penalty to level things up, but Thomas Tuchel’s side were left to rue missed opportunities and United were the happier side as they left West London.

Sancho’s opener was just the third goal that the Blues have conceded from open play in the league this term, with Tuchel’s backline having kept eight clean sheets in the league so far.

However, the German manager is already facing potential headaches, with Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Thiago Silva all set to be out of contract at the end of the season.

The experienced defensive quartet are all due to be available for free next term and, while Christensen and Rudiger were both believed to be close to agreeing extensions at one point, there have been no developments.

Now, Tuchel has another defensive headache, with out of favour centre-back Malang Sarr reportedly growing increasingly unhappy at the club.

The Frenchman arrived at Stamford Bridge over the summer having spent the first six months of his time at the club on loan at Porto, but has only made three appearances for the Blues since his debut in September.

Sarr has made just one Premier League appearance this season.

Now, the 22-year-old has reportedly been the subject of talks, with a potential loan move in January on the cards, according to Sport Mediaset.

The report suggests that Inter Milan are keen on giving the young defender a second chance to get his career back on track, with a view to making the move permanent after an initial loan deal until the end of the season.

The player is reportedly valued at around £13 million by the Serie A club, but Chelsea are unlikely to accept any less than the £14 million that they paid French side Nice for the player last summer.

Sarr has only made one league appearance for the Blues so far, in a 1-0 win over Brentford when both Silva and Rudiger were out injured.

The Frenchman’s other two appearances both came in the Carabao Cup.

Now, Romelu Lukaku has reportedly advised Sarr to move to the San Siro, with the Belgian having departed Inter himself less than six months ago.
