Manchester United will hope to build on their opening day win over Fulham when they face Brighton and Hove Albion in the next round of Premier League fixtures.

Debutant Joshua Zirkzee’s late goal earned Erik ten Hag’s side all three points against the Cottagers, who were perhaps unfortunate to lose the game.

Next up for United is a trip to the south coast to face the Seagulls, who defeated Everton 3-0 on Saturday.

In the meantime, though, one of United’s fringe players is attracting interest from a Turkish club.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Panathinaikos have expressed interest in United winger Facundo Pellistri.

The Uruguayan joined United from boyhood club Penarol back in 2020 and has since spent time on loan at both Alaves and Granada.

Pellistri could join Turkish Super Lig side Panathinaikos

The 25-year-old has played just 25 times for United across all competitions since arriving at Old Trafford, but Romano claims that the Turkish Super Lig side are in advanced talks to sign the player on a permanent basis.

Romano claims that an agreement hasn’t yet been reached but that discussions are set to continue this week, with the move a real possibilityfor Pellistri.

The 26-time Uruguay international has less than a year remaining on his current contract with the Red Devils, which means he could sign a pre-contract agreement with any foreign club in January before departing Old Trafford as a free agent next summer.

The Manchester club therefore appear to have made the decision to cash in on Pellistri during the current window.
