Turkish side Galatasaray close to signing two Tottenham players

Tottenham Hotspur continued their impressive start to the Premier League season with a 5-2 victory over Burnley on Saturday. 

Son Heung-Min netted a hat-trick and Cristian Romero and James Maddison also scored at Turf Moor, earning Ange Postecoglou’s side a third consecutive league win.

New Spurs signing Brennan Johnson wasn’t involved in the game and will have to wait until after the international break to make his debut for the club, but in the meantime it appears that two of their current players could be on their way out of North London.

As per The Evening Standard, Turkish side Galatasaray are close to signing both Tanguy Ndombele and Davinson Sanchez.

The report claims that midfielder Ndombele will join the Super Lig giants on a season-long loan deal which will also include an option-to-buy clause that becomes active next summer.

The Frenchman has already completed part of his medical in London and will travel to Istanbul on Monday, it is claimed.

Ndombele, 26, joined the Lilywhites back in 2019 for a then-club record fee of £55 million but has struggled to maintain a regular starting spot.

In total the midfielder has made just 91 appearances across all competitions, and he has spent time on loan at both Lyon and Napoli over the past few seasons.

Sanchez, meanwhile, is set to join Galatasaray on a permanent deal for a fee of around £12.8 million.

The Colombian centre-back arrived in London from Dutch side Ajax back in 2017 and has since made more than 200 appearances for Spurs across all competitions.

The defender is behind the likes of Romero and Micky van de Ven in the pecking order of centre-backs under Postecoglou, although his departure will likely leave the Australian short of options in the centre of defence.

Despite both deals seemingly being all-but-finalised, the report claims that the Turkish club face a race against time to get both players registered before 11pm on Monday in order to include them in their squad for the upcoming Champions League group stages.
