Arsenal are yet to make a signing during the current transfer window, despite finishing as runners-up in each of the past two Premier League campaigns.

Mikel Arteta’s side have come close to winning the title twice, but on both occasions have been beaten to top spot by rivals Manchester City.

The Spaniard will be desperate to see his side go one better this time around, although the Gunners are yet to make use of the transfer market to bolster his squad.

Arsenal have, however, allowed two fringe players to depart The Emirates on loan.

On Monday the North London outfit announced that Nuno Tavares had joined Italian side Lazio, while midfielder Albert Sambo Lokonga will spend next season on loan at Spanish side Sevilla.

The pair both spent last season out on loan – at Nottingham Forest and Luton Town respectively – having fallen out of favour under Arteta.

Lokonga was relegated with Luton Town last season

Tavares joined the Gunners from Portuguese side Benfica in 2021 and has since also spent time on loan at French club Marseille.

The left-back has played just 28 times for Arsenal across all competitions since arriving in the capital.

Lokonga, meanwhile, signed for Arsenal from Belgian club Anderlecht in 2021, and has since played 39 appearances for the Gunners.

The central midfielder has previously sent time on loan at Crystal Palace, and made 19 appearances for Luton last year as the Hatters were relegated from the top flight.
