Premier League champions Manchester City face rivals Chelsea in a friendly on Saturday evening.

The Citizens have been underwhelming so far this pre-season, while the Blues recorded their first win of the summer when they beat Mexican side Club America last time out.

City boss Pep Guardiola will face his former assistant, Enzo Maresca, on Saturday, before the two sides meet once again on the opening weekend of the upcoming campaign.

In the meantime, one of City’s most important players has reportedly attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

As per Ben Jacobs, both French side Paris Saint-Germain and Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid are interested in signing City forward Julian Alvarez.

Alvarez is currently on international duty at The Olympic Games in Paris

The Argentine, who won the World Cup with his country in 2022, joined City from River Plate two years ago and enjoyed a remarkable debut season in England, helping Guardiola’s side complete the treble.

In total he has scored 36 times and registered 18 assists in 103 games for the club across all competitions, but Jacobs claims that the Argentina international has attracted significant interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.

The 24-year-old still has four years remaining on his current contract with City, and the club are believed to be reluctant to sell the attacker this summer.

It is claimed that PSG had already shown interest in the player, while La Liga giants Atletico have recently entered into talks about a potential deal.
