Manchester City are unsurprisingly right in the mix again at the top of the Premier League as they aim to defend their title.

Pep Guardiola’s side sit second in the table, three points adrift of leaders Chelsea with 11 games played.

Although the Citizens are equipped with strength in depth in every area of the pitch, that can bring its issues when it comes to squad rotation.

And, according to reports by footmercato.net, Riyad Mahrez is ‘unhappy’ at the Etihad and is eyeing up a move away from the club.

Mahrez has had to be patient for his Premier League opportunities this term.

Despite being City’s top scorer in all competitions this term with eight goals, it’s claimed that the Algerian star is disgruntled with his lack of playing time.

Guardiola has handed the 30-year-old just two Premier League starts to date, making a further six appearances off the bench.

This means out of a possible 990 minutes of top-flight football, Mahrez, who joined the Citizens from Leicester in the summer of 2018, has played just 261.

Two clubs who are reportedly interested in signing Mahrez are Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

The forward’s contract runs until the summer of 2023, meaning, come January that he has just 18 months left in his deal.
