The Ruben Amorim era at Manchester United begins on Sunday when the Red Devils travel to face Ipswich Town.

The 39-year-old departed Portuguese champions Sporting CP to take charge of United during the international break, following the sacking of Erik ten hag last month.

Amorim arrives in Manchester with a huge reputation as one of the world’s best young managers, but he inherits a side that currently sit 13th in the table after a dismal start to the campaign.

With the January transfer window fast approaching, Amorim and those in charge of United will be looking ahead to the mid-season window.

With that in mind, it appears that one of United’s summer signings is likely to leave the club already.

According to CaughtOffside, Amorim has been helping striker Joshua Zirkzee take the next steps toward finding a move away from Old Trafford.

Zirkzee hasn’t scored for Manchester United since the opening weekend of the Premier League season

Zirkzee, 23, joined United from Italian side Bologna over the summer and enjoyed a dream debut, scoring the winner over Fulham on the opening night of the Premier League season after coming on as a substitute.

Since then, though, the Dutchman has failed to score in 16 consecutive games, putting his place in Amorim’s plans under threat.

It is claimed that the Netherlands international has attracted interest from a number of clubs, including sides in Serie A.

Zirkzee netted 14 times in 58 games for Italian side Bologna across all competitions during his time there, before departing to move to Old Trafford over the summer.

He is contracted to United until the end of the 2028/29 campaign after signing a long-term contract when he joined the club, but the report claims that he could look to depart United when the transfer window reopens in January.
