Villa to offer ex-England ace a shock Premier League return

Aston Villa are reportedly ready to hand former England international Ashley Cole a return to the Premier League in January.

Remi Garde’s side, who currently sit rock-bottom in the standings after one win from their opening 15 fixtures, are interested in bringing the AS Roma full-back to Villa Park during next month’s transfer window.

The 34-year-old, who left league champions Chelsea for the Serie A outfit only last July, has failed to make a single first-team appearance for the Italian side so far this season.

Cole; who earned an impressive 107 international caps for the Three Lions, made only 16 appearances in all competitions during his debut campaign at the Stadio Olimpico, although he hasn’t been included in Roma’s matchday squad now since March.
