Mark Warburton has welcomed the completion of Evangelos Marinakis’ takeover of Nottingham Forest.

Speaking to the Nottingham Post the former Rangers and Brentford boss is looking forward to a period of stability as the transfer window reopens.

Warburton became the third man to take charge of Forest this season when he arrived last month and had to wait until the final day to secure survival in the Championship.

In his only season managing in the Championship Warburton took Brentford into the play-off’s and will be looking for a similar achievement next season at the City Ground.

One of the first players that he’ll be looking to sign up will be Rangers winger Barrie McKay who has just over a year left on his Ibrox deal.

Warburton gave the winger his big breakthrough at Rangers and would love to bring him to the City Ground to play his part in next season’s promotion push.
