Newcastle United’s Yasin Ben El-Mhanni has been dubbed the next Riyad Mahrez in some quarters and, based on what we’ve seen so far, it’s easy to see why such comparisons have been made.

The 21-year-old moved to St James’ Park in the summer from non-league, having had stints at Aldershot, Farnborough, and Lewes, and has immediately shot to prominence from several videos posted online of the youngster’s skills.

El-Mhanni spent a short amount of time on trial at Chelsea last season, and he scored for their Under-21 side on his debut in the Blues’ 3-1 win over Middlesbrough in April.

The youngster is well-known for his incredible tricks and skills, and he even travelled to Barcelona to show Brazilian forward Neymar what he could do!

And now El-Mhanni has made his move up into the Football League, he’ll look to break into the Newcastle team as soon as possible, as he is currently plying his trade with the Under-23 squad at St James’ Park.

He has netted once in four games for the development team – in their 2-0 win over Middlesbrough last week – and, if the video from our friends at Furious Football Diaries (FFDTV) is anything to go by, this youngster has got a big future in the game!
