This is the moment Arsenal forward Joel Campbell seals a last-gasp 4-3 victory for Costa Rica during their recent international friendly triumph in Russia.

In the first fixture to be played inside the new Krasnodar Stadium, the Gunner spoiled the home nation’s party with an injury-time spot-kick, which he earned and dispatched expertly.

Costa Rica raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to strikes from Randall Azofeifa and Bryan Ruiz, which left the sell-out crowd of over 34,000 gobsmacked, before Alexander Samedov pulled a goal back for the hosts.

However Vasili Berezutski, on his 101st appearance for Russia, then put the ball past his own goalkeeper to restore the visitors’ two-goal advantage, before a quick-fire double from Artem Dzyuba looked to have spared Russian blushes.

But there was just enough time for Campbell, who has been shipped out on loan to Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon this season by Premier League outfit Arsenal, to sink the 2018 World Cup hosts from 12 yards out.
