Youngster Charly Musonda treated himself to an unforgettable birthday present, meeting his football idol, although he had to be patient.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who is currently on loan at La Liga outfit Real Betis from Premier League side Chelsea, waited around 20 minutes after Saturday’s encounter with Spanish giants Real Madrid to meet the one and only, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Despite being an unused substitute against Zinedine Zidane’s side, in which they romped to a 6-1 league victory, Musonda was all smiles when the Portuguese international emerged from the stadium after full-time to pose for photos and sign a shirt for the Blues loanee.

The left winger, who has provided one assist in seven league appearances for Betis so far this season, is understood to wear the number seven shirt because of the former Manchester United forward.

So despite watching his team-mates get thrashed by Real Madrid, at least Musonda went home happy after meeting one of the world’s greatest footballers. Not a bad birthday, eh!
