It was four years ago today that a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic single-handedly mauled England with a four-goal haul to fire Sweden to a 4-2 victory in an international friendly.

The 35-year-old, who joined Premier League outfit Manchester United on a free transfer earlier this summer, produced a remarkable overhead kick to conclude the opening of the new Friends Arena in Solna in spectacular style.

It was a case of saving the best til last, as with a hat-trick already in the bag for the towering Swede, the then Paris Saint-Germain striker rubbed salt in the Three Lions’ wounds with an extraordinary bicycle kick in injury time from more than 30 yards out.

After a lofted ball forward; a nervous Joe Hart could only half-head the ball clear into the path of the cleverly anticipated Ibrahimovic, who instantly executed a world-class finish to lob the England goalkeeper and the backtracking Ryan Shawcross on his one and only international appearance, to date.
