England’s U21 side tasted defeat for the first time in 15 outings last night, at the hands of their French counterparts, as Les Blues were late 3-2 winners.

Despite spectacular goals from Duncan Watmore and Lewis Baker for the Three Lions, as well as a superb winner from Wylan Cyprien, one striker stole the show in Bondoufle.

Celtic’s Moussa Dembele, who arrived from Fulham in the summer and has got off to a blinding start to life north of the border, cancelled out Watmore’s opener before giving the hosts the lead.

The 20-year-old has bagged himself a remarkable 16 goals in 24 appearances for his club so far this season, as well as the two for his country on Monday.

The former Fulham man has been linked with a whole host of top clubs, most notably Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal – as well as European behemoths, Real Madrid. However, Brendan Rodgers – clearly in no rush to lose his man – has slapped a whopping £40m price tag on the striker, who arrived on a free transfer in the summer.

That may seem outrageous, but when you take note of his form and have a look at the technique on these two goals against the Three Lions, you may be convinced…
