Lionel Messi is widely regarded as the world’s best footballer, unless you enter a discussion with a Cristiano Ronaldo admirer!

Here, adidas have challenged Manchester City star, Patrick Roberts, to recreate some of the Argentina and FC Barcelona legend’s famous strikes against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich as the Citizens visited the La Liga giants in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

However the 19-year-old, who is an England Under-20 international, is currently on loan at Scottish Premiership champions Celtic, who are also drawn in Group C of the elite European competition alongside his parent club and Barca.

It turned out to be an ill-fated return for Citizens boss Pep Guardiola at the Nou Camp earlier this week, as Man City were crushed 4-0 at the hands of Messi & Co, where the Argentine ace bagged a hat-trick, with Neymar grabbing the other goal.

Meanwhile Roberts’ Celtic didn’t fare much better on the night, losing 2-0 at home to Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach to leave Brendan Rodgers’ side bottom of the group.
