It clearly appears that Enner Valencia’s child support row has taken a dramatic twist, as police chased the Premier League forward over owed child maintenance payments during a match.

The 26-year-old, who is on loan at Everton from fellow top-flight club West Ham United, featured for 82 minutes in Ecuador’s 3-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Chile, only to be pursued by police whilst being wheeled away in a medical buggy after coming off injured to escape the officers.

According to reports in Argentina; Valencia is said to owe the mother of his daughter, Sharon Valencia, around £13,000 in child maintenance bills.

After the police turned up to Ecuador’s training session ahead of the clash, in a bid to resolve the issue, but to no avail, they thought they would also try their luck inside the Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa during the fixture, but Valencia was driven away with altitude sickness shortly before full-time.

Watch the above video to see at least 12 police officers chase the Everton star.
