Watford have reportedly agreed a deal to sign England international defender Kieran Gibbs, according to Sky Sports.

The Premier League side, who host newly promoted Brighton and Hove Albion this afternoon in the top-flight, are understood to have agreed a fee with Arsenal for the left-back’s services before the close of the summer transfer window on Thursday (August 31).

The 27-year-old, who has 10 international caps for The Three Lions, has not been included in The Gunners’ first-team matchday squads so far this campaign.

Gibbs, who joined the North London outfit back in 2004, has scored six goals in 229 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal, though he played just 22 times last season after losing his first-team place to Nacho Monreal.

The full-back, who has less than 12 months remaining on his current deal, was also a transfer target for Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United earlier this summer, but looks destined to join Marco Silva’s Hornets instead.
