Watford are reportedly hopeful of completing a £6.5m deal for Morocco international Nordin Amrabat, according to the Daily Star.

The Premier League side, who currently sit tenth in the league standings respectively, have identified the Malaga winger as the best alternative target to England forward Andros Townsend during the January transfer window.

However the 28-year-old, who has 26 international caps for his country, has failed to score in 13 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit this season.

Hornets boss Quique Sanchez Flores was interested in Tottenham winger Townsend this month, but was eventually put off the Spurs’ star’s price tag of £14m slapped on by chairman Daniel Levy earlier this month.
