Watford are in pole position to land England youth international Jerome Sinclair, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who defeated West Brom 1-0 at the Hawthorns on Saturday thanks to Ben Watson’s strike, are set to splash out £2m this summer in their bid to sign the Liverpool forward ahead of any fellow potential suitors.

The 19-year-old, who is a former England Under-17 international, has made two first-team appearances for the Reds so far this season, with both outings coming in the FA Cup – where he has scored one goal against League Two Exeter City in their original third round tie.

Sinclair, who has yet to make a Premier League start for the Anfield club, is thought to have agreed a three-year deal in principle to join the Hornets this summer.

However the report suggests that Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and West Brom are still keen on hijacking the move for forward Sinclair.
