Watford have completed the signing of England Under-21 international star Nathaniel Chalobah on a five-year deal.

The Premier League side, who finished 17th in the English top-flight standings last term, just six points above the relegation zone, have landed the Chelsea midfielder for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old, who was part of the England Under-21 side that reached the semi-finals of the European Championships in Poland last month, failed to score in 15 first-team appearances for The Blues overall.

Former Chelsea youth graduate Chalobah.

Chalobah, who had been with the Stamford Bridge outfit since the age of 10, had previously enjoyed loan spells at the likes of Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, Burnley, Reading, Napoli and Watford.

But after starting just Premier League fixture under Chelsea boss Antonio Conte in 2016-17, Chalobah has returned to Vicarage Road on a permanent deal in a bid for more first-team opportunities, having scored five goals in 42 appearances during his 2012-13 loan spell.

Chalobah will return to Stamford Bridge on October 21, 2017, when Watford travel to his former club Chelsea in the English top-flight.
