Watford are reportedly hopeful of reigniting a deal for Spain international Mario Suarez this month, according to the Mirror.

The newly promoted Premier League side, who defeated Newcastle United 2-1 on Saturday, failed in a previous £8m bid to sign the Fiorentina midfielder earlier in the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old, who has three international caps for his country, has scored one goal in 13 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit this season.

Suarez, who worked with Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores during their time at Atletico Madrid, is now reconsidering his future with a week remaining of the current transfer window.

It is understood that the Hornets could wrap up a loan deal for the central midfielder.
