Watford are reportedly considering offering former Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor a short-term deal.

The newly promoted Premier League side, who impressively defeated West Ham United 2-0 on Saturday to move up to 11th in the table, are interested in adding the experienced forward to their front line options this campaign.

The 31-year-old, who was axed by Spurs back in September, scored just twice in 17 appearances in all competitions last season at White Hart Lane after falling out of favour with manager Mauricio Pochettino.

However it is understood that the Hornets are concerned that the Togo international is still unfit after seeing proposed summer moves to both Aston Villa and West Ham United collapse earlier this year, meaning Watford will want Adebayor to prove his credentials before any potential deal is thrashed out.
