Wenger admits Arsenal could be without Gibbs and Oxlade-Chamberlain for West Brom clash

Manager Arsene Wenger admits Arsenal could be without defender Kieran Gibbs and forward Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for Saturday’s trip to West Bromwich Albion.

However the Premier League side, who have dropped down to fifth spot in the top-flight standings following three defeats in their last four league outings, have been given a boost in the return of midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

Wenger, speaking at this morning’s conference ahead of Saturday’s visit to The Hawthorns (12:30), said (via football.london), “Gibbs is uncertain and Ox has a test today.

“Elneny has joined in again.”

Winger Oxlade-Chamberlain, 23, has scored six goals in 36 appearances in all competitions for The Gunners so far this season, but has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Meanwhile left-back Gibbs, 27, has made just six Premier League outings under Wenger this term, with fellow full-back Nacho Monreal consistently ahead of the England international in the Frenchman’s pecking order.

As for Elneny, the 24-year-old Egyptian returns to the first-team squad following an ankle injury he picked up last month.
