Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested that he has money to spend in order to keep star man Alexis Sanchez at The Emirates.
The Chile international’s contract is up at the end of next season, and with clubs reportedly circling and keeping tabs on his situation, the Frenchman is keen to get the deal over the line.
Speaking after his side’s 3-1 win over Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth side, Wenger said;
“It is important. How important it is, I don’t know. We will not sort it tonight,” he said.
“We have some time in front of us. You (the media) like us to spend money, so you should be happy!”
The deal looked to be on the rocks when the former Barcelona man was reportedly demanding a pay rise to £200k-a-week, however, it may be the case that the Gunners need to spend such money to finalise the deal.
The 27-year-old has been the main man in North London so far this season, having been moved into the central striking role he has bagged ten goals in 18 outings this season.
