Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed the four players he is looking to tie down this summer as they approach the latter stages of their contracts.

The Frenchman, who is yet to reveal his own future amidst intense pressure from segments of the Gunners support, has said he is looking to tie down a core of British talent in Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs.

“We still have a group of young players but we have to keep them all,” said Wenger.

“We have Ramsey, Chamberlain, Wilshere, Gibbs. All these players, we have to make decisions and manage to keep them together.”

There has been intense speculation over the future of the likes of Chamberlain and Wilshere especially, with the former unsure if staying in north London is beneficial for his career, whilst the latter – on loan at Bournemouth – has persistently stated he will wait until the summer to see where his future lies.

Reports have suggested that Wenger could oversee a substantial overhaul this summer, however, his comments regarding his British players, who are far from the stars of the show, may have fans second guessing such reports.
