Arsene Wenger saw Arsenal’s six-match winning streak come to an end against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The Gunners could only muster a 0-0 draw against the Premier League strugglers, and could have lost the game were it not for some good saves from goalkeeper Petr Cech.

Nevertheless, the draw was enough to extend their unbeaten run to 12 matches, and at the time did send them to the top of the Premier League table.

Confidence will undoubtedly be high around The Emirates going into their League Cup last 16 tie against Championship side Reading on Tuesday, as Wenger looks to win the competition for the first time as Arsenal manager.

The Royals, under the stewardship of former Manchester United centre-back Jaap Stam, currently sit eighth in the second tier, having scraped a 1-0 win over bottom of the table Rotherham United on Saturday.

It’s likely that both teams will make some changes from the sides that started in the league on Saturday, which will give a few fringe players an opportunity to impress and perhaps stake a claim for a regular starting spot.

Here are THREE Arsenal players who deserve a chance against Reading on Tuesday…
