Newcastle face competition from West Brom for the signing of Kieran Gibbs.

According to a report on Football London the Arsenal defender is in demand as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.

Gibbs has found his opportunities at Arsenal more and more limited with the arrival of Sead Kolasinac virtually closing the door on his prospects for next season.

While attention has been on the contracts of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil nothing has been discussed about a new deal for the left back who has made over 100 Premier League appearances.

Rafa Benitez wants to bring in that sort of experience to give Newcastle a chance of thriving in the top flight and had earmarked £15m for the 27-year-old.

West Brom are operating in a similar market with Tony Pulis looking to bring in players on the periphery of the bigger clubs and give them the opportunity to enjoy regular first team football.
