West Brom are interested in taking France international full-back Mathieu Debuchy on loan next month.

The Premier League outfit, who lost 2-1 to newly promoted AFC Bournemouth at the weekend, are lining up a January move for the out-of-favour Arsenal defender.

The 30-year-old, who has 27 international caps for his country, has played just two league games all season for the Gunners since losing his first-team spot to the impressive Hector Bellerin.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis is keen to bolster his defensive ranks in the New Year; with Debuchy their reported number one target, who could be keen on a move to The Hawthorns in a bid to seal his spot in France’s squad at next summer’s UEFA European Championships.

Debuchy cost the Gunners around £12m last summer from Newcastle United.
