West Brom will have to wait patiently to see what impact the departure of Walter Mazzarri from Watford will have on their interest in Troy Deeney.

According to a report in the Birmingham Mail the striker could yet have a future at Vicarage Road after appearing to fall out with Mazzarri.

Tony Pulis has gone on record with his appreciation of the 28-year-old who started his career at Walsall before joining Watford in 2010.

Deeney has survived under eight different managers at Vicarage Road and must now wait to find out where he stands under yet another boss.

Pulis is determined to bring in at least one new striker during the summer amid concerns about his side’s lack of firepower.

Salomon Rondon is this season’s top scorer but with just eight goals in the Premier League Pulis knows that he needs more firepower with Deeney close to being able to guarantee 15 goals per season.
