West Brom have reportedly been handed a boost in their pursuit of Brentford striker Scott Hogan, according to Sky Sports.

The Premier League side, who currently sit eighth in the English top-flight table after defeating struggling Sunderland 2-0 last time out, have been heavily linked [Mirror] with luring the in-form forward away from The Bees before the close of the January transfer window tonight (23:00).

The 24-year-old, who has previously played for the likes of Halifax Town, Ashton United, Hyde and Rochdale, has impressively scored 14 goals and provided one assist in 27 appearances in all competitions for the Championship club so far this season.

The reports suggest that West Ham have pulled out of the running to sign the Brentford star, although the Baggies are also joined by Crystal Palace and Aston Villa in the running for the Championship ace.

Brentford are said to be holding out for a £15m transfer fee on deadline day.
