West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has admitted his side are unlikely to sign Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp during the forthcoming January transfer window, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The Premier League side, who climbed up to 11th in the English top-flight standings after defeating defending league champions Leicester City 2-1 on Sunday, have been constantly linked with a move for the Foxes’ winger.

The 23-year-old, who has 13 international caps for his country, has made six appearances in all competitions for Leicester so far this season, but was left on the bench during yesterday’s clash at the King Power Stadium.

Schlupp, who has been with the Foxes since 2005 and graduated through the club’s youth set-up, was understood to be the subject of three failed bids from the Baggies during the summer transfer window, with the final offer rising to £12m.

But after the pacey winger featured against FC Copenhagen in the Champions League last week, West Brom boss Pulis has doubted his side’s chances of luring the Ghanaian to the Hawthorns.

“He played on Wednesday so I don’t see him being sold if he is in the team,” he said.
