West Brom keen on Jardel

West Brom are preparing to make an improved offer for Jardel.

According to a report in the Birmingham Mail the Baggies have already had an offer for the Benfica defender turned down.

Jardel has had a season disrupted by injury but with Victor Lindelof expected to join Manchester United Benfica would rather that the 31-year-old stayed on in Lisbon.

Tony Pulis has been showing a lot of interest in Portuguese football this season and is looking to strengthen his defensive options.

With Gareth McAuley celebrating his 38^th birthday before Christmas and Jonny Evans attracting attention Pulis is aware that his trusted partnership could look vulnerable.

At 31 years of age Jardel has a wealth of experience with Pulis confident of clinching a deal and getting the Brazilian to have an influence of West Brom’s season.
