West Brom set to move for Delph

West Brom are among the bookies favourites to sign Fabian Delph.

According to a report in the Birmingham Mail the Manchester City midfielder is wanted by Albion, Burnley and Newcastle.

Delph was mainly used by Manchester City in cup competitions in the season just ended and only started two Premier League games.

City paid Aston Villa £8m for the midfielder two seasons ago but from the fringes of the England squad he has struggled to get into Pep Guardiola’s matchday squad.

With Darren Fletcher on his way to Stoke there is a big hole in the Albion midfield that Delph could easily slot into.

Despite two years effectively out of the front line at the age of 27 Delph still has the best years of his career ahead of him.

With Albion looking to kick on next season giving Delph the chance to relaunch his career could be as smart a move as the decision to bring Fletcher to Albion from Manchester United.
