Name: Saido Berahino
Position: Striker
Goal: WEST BROM vs Crystal Palace – February 27, 2016

More or less safely cooped up in 11th place; having amounted 39 points with only eight fixtures remaining, there is nothing much else to debate about as the Baggies have seemingly preserved their Premier League status for another year.

But West Brom’s Goal of the Season award is certainly worth pondering between now and the end of the season.

Our team have selected Saido Berahino’s expert finish against Crystal Palace last month, for both individual finesse and exceptional team play.

The 22-year-old has scored seven goals in 29 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign for Tony Pulis’ men, but it is the forward’s most recent league strike that could prove to be the club’s best of the entire term.

After Jose Salomon Rondon neatly brought down a drilled ball from the Baggies’ back line and fed the ball out to Stephane Sessegnon on the right-flank, the Benin international delivered a pinpoint and perfectly weighted ball into the path of the spearheading Berahino, who ruthlessly tucked the ball past a helpless Wayne Hennessey in the Palace goal on the volley.

It proved vital too! Berahino’s sublime finish put West Brom 3-0 up inside 31 minutes, only for the Eagles to nervously pin back the scoreline to 3-2 late on.
