Slaven Bilic is ready to swoop for Manchester City full backs Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta if the pair become surplus to Pep Guardiola’s plans, reports The Sun.

The newspaper reports that while West Ham United are keen to bring both players to the London Stadium they would be willing to focus on Zabaleta should Sagna be unavailable.

Guardiola has shuffled his defensive pack several times this season and neither player has managed to nail down a place in the City side.

With both the Argentine and French international the wrong side of 30- Zabaleta’s 32 while Sagna’s 33, there’s no guarantees Guardiola will be willing to hand them a new contract, making them available on a free this summer.

West Ham have conceded 43 goals in the Premier League this season – the sixth worst defensive record in the top flight – and Bilic will be looking to increase his defensive options.

Two experienced players like Sagna and Zabaleta, who have seven major trophies in England between them, could prove ideal for the Hammers as they look towards next season after what’s been a disappointing current campaign.
