West Ham secured their place in next season’s Premier League at the weekend after beating bitter rivals Tottenham 1-0 at the London Stadium.
Manager Slaven Bilic was under pressure to finish the campaign on a high after an overly frustrating season, which has seen the Hammers struggle to adapt to their new home, several summer signings not work out, and star player Dimitri Payet move to Marseille in January.
However, the East London outfit produced arguably one of their performances of the season to beat Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs on Friday night, with Manuel Lanzini’s second half strike enough to all but end Tottenham’s chances of lifting the Premier League title this term.
Victory for Bilic’s Hammers has mathematically sealed their spot in the top-flight next season, and it seems that attentions have already turned to who the Croatian could look to sign this summer, with Manchester City’s Yaya Toure the latest to be linked with the London Stadium.
The 33-year-old is out of contract in the summer and as of yet hasn’t agreed an extension, and recent reports suggest that West Ham are targeting a move for the 81-goal Premier League star.
Yet, it’s not a deal which has been well received on Twitter, with several Hammers fans questioning a variety of different things with regard to a move for the industrious midfielder…
#WHUFC planning on signing Yaya Toure. A player that is unmotivated by a title race. hardly going to give it his all in a battle for 8th

If anyone who wants Yaya Toure in the summer and says that’s progress does not understand football #WHUFC

@_shootfootball Good player but his day has passed and he’s lost his hunger for any team looking to progress especially when you consider his wages

Although there was one West Ham supporter who would welcome the move…
Yaya Toure would be a good signing. Where would he fit in to the side though?
