West Ham have opened up talks with free agent John Ruddy as manager Slaven Bilic looks to bolster his ranks this summer.

According to a report in the Daily Mail the recently released Norwich keeper has held talks about a move to the London Stadium.

Ruddy made 27 Championship appearances for Norwich but after missing out on a return to the Premier League some serious cost cutting is underway at Carrow Road.

After seven years and over 200 league appearances Ruddy has been released with a string of Premier League sides interested in the 30-year-old.

West Ham are believed to be in the market for a new keeper, with Bilic having switched between Darren Randolph and Adrian all season long, and are one of many clubs that have been linked with Joe Hart.

As a free agent Ruddy can expect a generous signing on fee but he won’t be expecting anything like the £100,000 weekly wage packet that Hart will be looking for.

Ruddy made his only England appearance in a friendly against Italy in August 2012.
