West Ham miss out on deal for international striker

West Ham United have missed out on the signing of Atletico Madrid striker Raul Jimenez .

The Mexico international looked set to join the Hammers on loan but reports in Spain say the club’s Europa League exit scuppered the move.

Benfica now look set to capture the 24-year-old on a permanent deal, meaning Slaven Bilic will have to look at other targets.

Jimenez, who only joined the Spanish club from América last summer scored once in 21 La Liga appearances.
