West Ham United are reportedly closing in on the loan signing of Nigeria international Emmanuel Emenike, according to the Telegraph.

The Premier League side; who suffered a 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United on Saturday, are due to sign the Fenerbahce forward on an initial loan deal until the end of the current campaign, with an option to buy outright in the summer.

The 28-year-old, who has 38 international caps for his country, has scored nine goals in 15 games whilst on loan at Al Ain this season.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic wants to bring Emenike to Upton Park this month following injuries to fellow forwards Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho, whilst Croatia hitman Nikica Jelavic could be leaving the club for China during the January transfer window.
