West Ham United are reportedly ready to make a shock £10m January bid for Italy international Mario Balotelli, according to the Brentwood Gazette.
The Premier League side, who suffered a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday, are eyeing a cut-price move for the Liverpool forward following the latest injury to Hammers striker Andy Carroll.
The 25-year-old, who has 33 international caps for his country, has scored just once in four league appearances whilst on loan at Serie A giants AC Milan this season.
Balotelli, who cost the Anfield outfit £16m back in August 2014, is wanted by West Ham boss Slaven Bilic to help the Londoners push for European football in the second-half of the 2015-16 campaign.
The fiery Italian forward scored only four goals in 28 first-team appearances for the Reds before re-joining Milan on a season-long loan in the summer.
