West Ham have seen their bid for Danish striker Martin Braithwaite rejected by French side Toulouse, as the Hammers look to add firepower in January, according to a report from RMC Sport in France.

The Denmark international, who has one goal in 14 caps for his country, has been in form this season in Ligue 1, scoring seven goals in 16 league outings and helping Toulouse to ninth in the table.

The east London side, on the other hand, have been struggling for goals this term with Michail Antonio the only player to have bagged more than Braithwaite so far, with eight.

Behind the England international in the goal scoring standings sit Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini, both on a mere three goals, with one of Payet’s being a late winner against Accrington Stanley in the EFL Cup.

Slaven Bilic’s summer signings have also failed in front of goal, with neither Simone Zaza or Jonathan Calleri having the desired impact since their summer switches.
