Chelsea cruised past Morecambe with a 5-0 win over the League Two side in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.

Braces from Tosin Adarabioyo and Joao Felix, as well as a Christopher Nkunku strike, earned Enzo Maresca’s side a convincing victory and a place in the draw for round four.

The Blues will discover their fourth round opponents when the draw takes place on Sunday but, in the meantime, it appears that one of their London rivals are chasing one of their midfielders.

According to Football Insider, West Ham United are stepping up their efforts to sign Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall this month.

The Englishman is one of a number of first team players that is expected to depart Stamford Bridge this month having fallen out of favour under Maresca, and the report claims that the Hammers are hoping to agree a loan deal for the player.

Dewsbury-Hall, 26, joined Chelsea from Leicester City last summer having worked under Maresca at the Foxes last term.

Dewsbury-Hall is a target for London rivals West Ham

Since moving to Stamford Bridge, though, the Englishman has struggled to force his way into the starting line-up, making just five Premier League appearances and failing to start a single match in the competition.

The midfielder has played 15 times across all competitions so far, scoring twice and providing one assist in the Europa Conference League.

It is claimed that West Ham, who are now managed by former Chelsea boss Graham Potter, have made the player their top transfer target this month.

Dewsbury-Hall is contracted to the Blues until 2029, but the report claims that the club are now willing to allow him to leave just months after arriving.

Chelsea will demand a significant fee for the midfielder, though, making a loan departure most likely during the current transfer window.
